A Jongular (Jongleur) was a professional storyteller or public entertainer in medieval France. (Although "professional" would be a very loose term. Just a bit above a beggar and vagrant.) The role of the jongleur included that of musician, juggler, and acrobat, as well as reciter of literary works. A catch-all phase for the low performers of the age. One of Jeff’s magician characters is Jeffery the Jongular.
